Easy Sew !

First off, want to commend Dixi for the job she does with the pdf reference marks on each page. These are by far the easiest patterns to put together and more importantly put together accurately ! 5 stars for that alone.

Spring and Summer are just around the corner in south Florida, so I decided to mix the mini flared skirt with the gym shorts to make a skort. In my case, the waists of both patterns were such that I could attach the shorts at the top of the skirt before attaching the skirt waistband without any real need for any adjustment. I attached the waistband a little differently using my serger to sew the short ends, then match up the raw edges of the skirt, waistband, and shorts, and serge them all together. I left about 1.5 inches undone at one side of the back away from the shorts center seams and the skirt side seams. then used a safety pin to guide 1.25 inch elastic through the casing. Naturally, the first time I sewed the elastic together, I had somehow twisted the elastic, and had to reopen the seam cut the elastic and try again. I still have to hem the skirt, and elasticate the legs of the shorts, but that will have to wait a day or two for some new 3/8 elastic to arrive. Turned out extremely cute
